I've noticed recently when driving to work, that my headlights turn on to dipped beam randomly for about 3-5seconds, then off again. My hands are no where near the light stalk and the dash illuminates along with the headlight symbol as it would normally if they were turned on.
there's no one thing that makes it happen, one time was indicating and braking for a roundabout, the other when I was parallel parking.
Has anyone else had this problem? Any suggestions would be great as its getting frustrating.

I had this happen a few weeks ago, only the once when I started the car. I put it down to a BSI glitch.
Mines multi-plexed. Don't know if yours is pre-plexed or multi-plexed as you haven't said. Might help solve a problem if you give more details.

Ah forgot the details, its multiplexed and no I dont have auto headlights. Is it worth taking the battery off in the proper way and rebooting it?

Mine was exactly the same so i ended up driving with side lights on all the time because every time i indicated my headlights would come on then go off randomly. Driving with sidelights on stopped this for a while until i could buy a new Comms2000 unit because that was the problem. Put up with it for ages. Bought the new unit and never had a problem since.

Look up on how to put the BSI into sleep mode before disconnecting the battery otherwise you could damage the software and have an £800 bill to replace it.

I've read about how to disconnect the battery etc so ill try that later today. How much is a comms2000 unit and would I only get it from Peugeot? Sounds pricey.

Most likely the com2000 unit.
The dipped headlights will also come on if there is a CAN comunication problem on the multiplex nextwork
Any other odd electrical issues at same time like instrument cluster dials stop working?

Not that i've noticed, just the headlights coming on. Could it be a loose wire on the unit? Where is it located? I take it I could get a second hand one down the scrappy to test?

Scan it with Peugeot Planet.
99.9% its gonna need a new or service / exchange com2000 unit fitting.

I had a new COM2000 (auto lights/wipers) fitted a couple of weeks ago by my local Pug dealer, not much change from £320 tho, but that did include diagnosis VAT labour etc. Only problem I have now is that the horn doesn't work !!!! Another trip to dealer me thinks !
