well car is about to go for its re-test, needed a wishbone, rear drum adjusting and the brake load valve freeing up!, i have already put new discs and pads on last week aswell as a centre exhaust. clutch was done last year as was both drive shafts. i was considering a new corsa 1.4 sxi as it has a few more toys.
but on the off chance my partner decided that she would still have a 206 again! so i thought about getting a 1.4 16v version(she will not have a bigger engine) as these seem quite nippy, also a 2005 onwards is prefered as i think the colour coded look is a lot better, and the fact you can get abs and trip computer which this car doesn't have. i say to get the sport model in red, white of the metalic blue colour, or even the light silver blue, but i don't think you can get that in the sport! what is the best model to get the 1.4 16v in and what toys do i need to have to make the current 2001 quiky feel old?
i have seen a couple on ebay and the autotrader but nothing yet close enough to me to be excited.
when i do find the car, what should i be looking at to sell my partners?
the car is a 2001 1.4 quiky, 89k. it has great interior but there are some marks on the car, little scuffs. the alloys have some laquar flaking off and the rear arches are starting to bubble! it has a rear spoiler also.i was thinking of a researve of 1k, is that about right?

Parkers or glasses will give you a rough price. You will only get what someone is prepared to pay for it. You might want to read this and revise your post.
Good choice on keeping with the 206. I think insurance is slightly cheaper than a Corsa and at least you know where you stand with the build quality. And if it means keeping the other half happy, it's a win win situation.

paint work should not have bubble unless has been badly repaired.

althought bonnet/ tailgate tends to rust first, but not the rear arches!

is the cambelt done?

and i don't unstand why buy a 206 again if you just sold yours lol

i like the fact the sports look like a sports, small funky, cheap to run and tax and best of all i now know them inside out lol. i have gone for another 1 because they are cheap enough to get a really good buy, also it should feel a little nippier than the already nippy 206. i believe its about 1.5 secs quicker to 60 so to her should feel alot more drivable on longer roads. although its not a rocket ship its more than adiquat for her.
and as for the why buy another, i havn't sold this 1 yet as we havn't seen another but the 2005/6 cars have more toys, better looks and more powerful 16v engines, so buy all meens the car should feel like a different car to her. unsure where that comment came from on her though, i thought this was pro 206?

so what you got now?, my partners had a 1.1 106 n reg, and 98 1.4 106 and now a 2001 206 quiky and she likes the little cars, i have had vauxhall most my life and now have a bm. but must admit in the towns with speed bumps and little streets i love the simplicity and nibleness of the pug.
do you not like them now? ps aimed at seabrook.

to the other part of the topic. the 1.4 16v sport model would be nice, but I have the SE which is pretty much identical but without the rear brakes. You can find some good ones out there, the first owner of mine ticket all the extra options so i had CC,spoiler, arches,sp interior parts and everything already!

so the sports have rear discs then?
what life do the clutches have?
and when is the cambelt change?

i would imagine a newer 206 with a stronger better pulling engine with better all round brakes and extra toys would feel like a newer car than the basic old quiksilver.

as usual 60K mile/ 6yr for cambelt

engine has 90bhp, same as the 1.6 8v, although i wouln't say the engine is stronger in terms of mechanical property.

top spec should have all round disc brake, front 266x22, rear 247x8

drove 1 today, seems a little bit nippier than the 1.8v, but still seems to stop accelerating past 3k even though the revs climb quite fast,it just seems to scream its tits off after that lol, not overly impressed with the brakes either. not that much better than the 8v if at all. and it had discs allround. mind i have just fully serviced the quiky brakes and put a new set of discs and pads on that are now run in.
i guess i will have to test drive another to see if its just the car in question, it was only 50k miles though.
the 1 thing i did notice was the stiffer ride the sport had.
