Hi everyone!
This is my first post on the reloaded forums, although I do visit a lot! (Just never have anything useful to say!)
I have a 206 1.6 Allure 53 plate, and I have been having some steering issues.
Got my car serviced at Formula One Auto Centres and had 2 new front tires and all wheels balanced and tracked. The old tyres (Good quality Bridgestone) had only done about 6000-7000 miles. The tyres were worn down to 1.6 on the edges, so they were obviously scrubbing (had full alignment done with tyre change)
I have had a constant issue (since getting the 4 new bridgestone tyres about 1-1/2 years ago), where I have to keep the wheel turned slightly to the right to keep going straight (even on roads with a camber going to the right) and on quite flat roads the car will drift to the left if I let go of the steering wheel. The garage said everything was fine with tracking/wheel balance/geometry, so I put it down to me being pedantic.
Since having the tracking done this time, the drift/amount of correction needed is worse, so I am wondering what to look at next? I replaced the droplinks 2 years ago, and from the forum I have found people saying wishbones could be the way forward.
Which is the best/cheapest place to start?
I also noticed (this may be unrelated) that about 2 years ago, the ride started to get.. rougher, less refined. You can feel the smallest bumps more and it makes much more noise on the plastic panels in the car. This may be completely unrelated though! Also, the tyres before the 4 bridgestone tyres also had slight uneven ware on the front, but it drove straight!

This won't help but my mrs and dad both told me I was going crazy when I told them it felt a harsher ride and I could hear more "rattle".
My thoughts where the fact the suspension is old?

I got the same thing MrZiggerz! girlfriend thinks I'm being picky/over sensitive.
Car has done 70k so maybe it is time to consider replacing some suspension parts? I suppose this could also be what is affecting the handling?
I would have hoped any issues would have been picked up in the service or at MOTs, but I suppose problems aren't always visible? Also the garages road test before the service consisted of a 2 min drive down the road and back.

Mines done over 70k now too and only really noticed it after the snow. I always feel unless you drive the car, on a regular basis, you don't really know what your feeling for.

Agreed! I just don't want to throw money at things which probably aren't related to the steering issue. I can take a bit of a crappy ride on town roads, and it's fine on the motorway (except the drifting...)
