Had my MOT on tuesday and one thing it failed on was ABS light on dash, i knew this would fail and had a driveshaft waiting as i knew my ABS sensor had snapped off, so i went to a seperate garage the same day as MOT and got my driveshaft fitted, picked it up today only for him to tell me that the other driveshaft sensor was snapped too, he jumped into the car before i left and pulled the ABS bulb out!!!! He said that he should of just done that in the first place, i have my car booked in for a re-test for 8am tomorow morning, what the hell should i do, i'm gonna feel like a right tw*t when it fails for not having an ABS bulb but i can't ring to cancel the re-test as it is at 8am when they first open! And if it fails again i'll have to pay for yet another full MOT Sad

If the light isn't on, they won't know that's the idea.

The first thing the mot tester is gonna do is check the abs warning light is operating correctly as that's why it failed last time.

Ring them first thing & rearange the retest for another day.

Will fail if the bulb isn't working unless you are mates with the garage people Wink Best to fix the problem rather than trying to beat around the bush

I've decided to cancel the re-test and ordered the other driveshaft from euro car parts, better to spend the little extra and be safe than bodge it i suppose Smile

The mot 'computerised' failure record will show on the retest that the reason for failure was an abs related fault, therefore, removing the bulb (as if abs was not fitted) will not work in this instance, even if you take it to another test station the original reason for failure will still show up on their computer. You need to rectify the fault before your retest.
