im not asking for a solution because nothings actually wrong lol, just something very strange happened when driving today.

about 3 days ago my clutch started squeeling when engaging or disengaging the clutch (no noise when pedal is fully up or down, just when actually moving it) during this time the clutch still worked fine.

today I was clutching up in traffic and i heard a BONK! and the car almost stalled, since then the noise has dissapeared and the biting point is lower down the pedal.

car still drives ok, and now clutch noise is gone, just wondering WTF happened under the bonnet? lol

oppinions?

I would have thought the clutch would be self adjusting on a ratchet mechanism. Could have been stuck then freed itself off...

If the release bearing was on its way out you would get a rumbling noise with the clutch depressed.....

were you crossing a border at the time?

206's have a common problem of picking up the polish when crossing a border, sometimes if they get too close to the clutch mechanism they can scream.

i think you can get a kit to fix it but its not worth it until you get 2 or 3 polish under there really

i had that problem 2 weeks ago. clutch felt clunky and i got the engaging squeal. the clutch bearing shattered in the high street and i could barely get the car home.

think a replacement valeo clutch cost me 74.20
