I am looking into re-trimming my door cards and glove box lid. I already have GTI seats. How about mats as well? Will look smart and will clean soooo easy.

My worry is just if it will be strong enough to withstand wear from feet by the pedals.

If I was to so it I would cut out cardboard to the perfect fit using my taylored mats as templates. Then leatherette over the top.

On a roll atm big ideas are poping into my head. need to add them to my big list Very Happy

cardboard may be a bit too flimsy, id imagine the leatherette would wear quickly constantly having dirty wet shoes on it?

what about a full leatherette dashboard Smile

The cardboard would be covered on both sides.
What else could I use?
Maybe I could buy a rubber protector to stick on for under the pedals?

How about covering a piece of 3mm rubber with leatherette. But I personally don't think its a good idea & would wear quickly.

I might try it with that I ahve left over from my door cards and go from there.

Cheers Tom; no I'm not although I am not in a position to defend myself as I have just this second bought a leather steering wheel...

Do you need dual controls and a co-pilot to drive your car?
