is your car a three door and if so does it only do it when you have recently moved the front seat forward to get into the back, as if you dont click the seat back in properly to the runners then it tends to do this.

I had the same problem, the seat tends to stick untill you either acclerate or break and u fly around, tell her that she needs to ensure that as above it should click into place!

After you've moved the seat click it into place, then when you get in the seat just wobble backwards and forwards to make sure it's in place, thats what I do, you look like a fool for about 10 seconds if anyones watching you but it saves you looking like a fool when you crash from the seat flying back Very Happy

Tis quite comon it seems lol that's kinda worrying how comon it is actually o.O

Agreed that this problem also happens to mine.

Only way I've cured it is to push the seat at the top towards the front of the car after pushing it back all the way.
You should hear another click.

Shuffling the car back and forth at seat level sometimes does not cure this.

I had this recently. let someone out the back, dual carriageway ramp, put the power down sharply to merge and the seat shot back. i sh@ myself! 60mph away from the pedals! Dangerous.

I only let people in and out through the passenger side after that.

Funny thing is the LX's never did it. the GTI does tho!

I've got an LX and it's happened to me, was scary as f**k when it first happened I thought my seat had broke and froze for a few seconds, kept thinking it must have been my car but reading this thread shows its not just me Laughing

Agreed, this is a bloody scary thing when it happens. (only once as of yet [touches wood])

But bloody hell the feel of acceleration when it does.... it nearly gave me whiplash... Laughing
