Hey,
my friends girlfriends 206 1.4se has just been in for a service and they picked up that the exhaust is going (which is cheap and easy to fix) and that the head gasket is close to death.
She's been told that it could cost £600 to get it changed... which I think is a load of b******s.
Anyone got any previous experience with a head gasket replacement on a 1.4se? I'm basically just after a more sensible price for her to look around for and not get mugged over by some mechanic.
ta very much.

8 or 16 valve version?
The SE spec was available with both versions of the 1.4 petrol engine.
