wheres the oil leak coming from? if its from the oil filter it could be the oil filter housing a common fault on 180's iirc, only one id pay to have fixed is the 1st gear judder as it sounds like this flywheel problem most 180s suffer with the rest of the jobs you could easily do yourself. |
Yes that's were I saw the oil dripping from when I had a look yesterday. Where best place to buy the housing if that is the case?
The main dealers seem to be praised hell of a lot on here whereas on all my other cars Nissan, SEAT, FIAT, Subaru and Toyota the dealers were useless. Time will tell I guess as the car may need to go in for the flywheel/clutch replacement |
PS, sorry about ripping your username, didn't realise Andy180 was taken. Cool username tho, lol

Do you mean the seal ? The filter should be changed as part of a regular service

Cross your fingers the horn issue isnt the com2000 unit as there mega money on the GTI 180 thanks to the ESP system
A 180 should have twin tone horns factory fitted on the same bracket

Ok, next question is how to tell if the horn is a com2000 unit. How hard can it be, its only the horn .
If need be couldn't I just re wire my own horn ?

check all the wiring first, if all wire is fine and the horn is working with external power, that=fault com2000

OK, update. Found out that the horn was down to faulty wiring, removed cleaned connections and now works fine
