Passed MOT, but emisions was only just, whereas it normally aces this test.

Fast Idle CO

Allowed: 0.20%
This year: 0.17%
Last year: 0.001%

Fast Idle HC

Allowed: 200ppm
This year: 13ppm
Last year: 1ppm

Normal Idle CO

Allowed: 0.30%
This year: 0.30%
Last year: 0.054%

Could this point to some other issue? Or (since I've changed test centres) that the place I've used previously has a broken detector that explains the very low readings?

LOL, no. It normally gets driven fairly enthusiastically (for a 1.4), but its previous journey this year was more sedate because I had flowers for the girlfriend in the boot.

A pass is a pass. You've got 12 months to fix the problem.

True Smile Just wanted to check the response wasn't "OMG, this means a major problem, your engine is about to die!!!".

Now that wouldn't surprise me. For the last 9 years the car has had an intermitent problem with the engine management light comming on. Although I believe one possible cause of that is the O2 sensor its one thing Peugeot never tried changing to fix it (I gave up when the waranty ran out, ignoring it and waiting for it to go off again has always been cheaper and at least as effective as anything else people have tried).

Did you not get a lambda reading with the results dude... it's usually a strong clue as to whether the lambda sensor itself is going iffy or the catalyst?

Right in the middle of the acceptable range, as always.
