Love the Dimma one bar the Morettes and the wing mirrors, oh and the green side repeaters, they're horrid! Not too keen on the seats either though I'd have to say, as they're a different green to the exterior. Overall though it's a cool car, you can't go wrong with wide arches and mega dished split rims!

Yours has a good WIP from the previous owner. The only thing to watch will be the head gasket especially as he didn't skim the head. But as it hasn't gone again then it should be fine. Wink

Yeah, it should be ok but might be something i'll do in the future because it mis-fires now and then when burying the right foot!

Ruffy - that's what's good about this car, at the moment it's mechanically sound. There is only really cosmetic issues that it has. Which I can deal with for now as it's only really small scratches. I need to figure out how to do stone chip repairs using a machine polisher and use the same technique to sort a few of these scratches.

The goodwood is coming to pugfest because it's going to be near MINT on the exterior I'm hoping by then... Smile

Ross all those things were done by the previous owner, the current owner has removed those wing mirrors - not sure about your other 2 issues though! I agree about the interior though - the colour is ever so slightly WRONG but cool all the same hence why it's not been re-done because it wont be a proper dimma interior that way...

She looks like a minter B (for her age). Another sound investment Wink and she has a bit of work for you to do, so that'll keep you busy , the interior looks amazing do you need sunglasses to drive it? I mean window down arm out rayban aviators, throwing out cheesy grins at girls with poodle haircuts, retro is the way to g though been in a few 309's the level of grip is unbelievable.

That dimma looks fantastic almost as it rolled out of the workshop, there can't be many of them left now ! especially in such a clean state!

Aye try not and make me s**te ma pants again by hammering around slip roads at the sort of speeds that would make my 206 tip over Laughing

Is that Dimma 309 one of the seven 4WD versions?

I should hope so since you own one and the fact that it has a "sex plate" Laughing The 205 is usually known to be the prettier car I suppose but i prefer the looks of the 309 Very Happy

Cracking looking car Bri. Still prefer the Goodward though.

That can't be the original battery can it? Shocked

Why not 3 cars?

Well because I can understand one for speed, one for looks but a second one similar to the first? Don't get me wrong i'm all for the multicar collection but just wondered why, given that all apart from the Goodwood are likely to depreciate.

b******s. In your "had a bad idea" thread is the real photo and the colour of your car is nothing like that above. Crap camara or not. You have adjusted the colour that much you've turned a green tree red.

I doubt it will be the original battery Luke, it'll just have been a peugeot source whenever it was replaced Smile

Well, I don't know about this one depreciating that much considering that there's only about 6 3drs in this colour in the UK...ie rarer and in higher demand than a goodwood because there's not many people that don't like Miami Blue. It's also very close to the spec of a miami 309 gti-16(not available in the UK unless imported) , the only thing difference is the lack of mi16 engine and some suspension components up front i think and perhaps a bit of strengthening.

I was also in the market for another wee 309 project, i spotted a graphite gray one for £400, but it was up in the shetland islands! Who knows how much it would have cost to do it up too. The pennies i spent on this would not equate to what it would cost to do the car up, most of which has already been done. The main concerns with 309's are the underside for rust and the rear axle. Which have all been done along with many other bits and bobs Smile

I also cringe at the thought of putting miles on the goodwood so it seemed a shame to have a car but not use it, but i really like the 309 so this one will get used more often and the goodwood will be declared sorn till the summer where it's the only time i'll use it anyway. The goodwood feels more like an ornament...or will be when i'm finished with it Smile

Above all, i've had a bit of a fetish for 309's for a fair few years now and i'm probably not the only person who owns more than 1 peugeot, and more than one of the same model. There's a guy on PSOOC who has SEVEN 205's!! Shocked Then there's carl chambers who takes it to the next level...and the list of other members can go on and on.

It's a hobby and I enjoy tinkering with them and I jumped at the chance of getting a 70% mint miami blue 309 which don't come up for sale very often at all.

Hope you understand the method in my madness now Laughing

Prior to buying this car I already knew that I wanted to upgrade the speakers that were in it because i knew i'd be driving it more often that the goodwood. So some good quality choons is a must for me! Still, I didn't want to go for anything to flashy, so no components or larger speakers here, just a set of standard replacement 13cm jobbies for the job!

I got these Alpine Type-S coaxials for £15 delivered.

I also got these Pioneers for the rear...£5 in the Halfords sale! Very Happy

I didn't think the SQ was all that great coming up in the car from Andy's but then it all made sense when i removed the rear panels to reveal...ehh no speakers! But some wires with some bullet connectors on them?!?! Very odd! So i sorted that out and put some spade connectors back on Smile

I have "on order" some sunroof plastic trim and a sunroof-style windscreen subber seal, just waiting on them to arrive! Very Happy

This weekend was the first opportunity i had to get both the 309's together. I introduced miss goodwood to her new baby sister 8-} :))

Little bits so far...but good bits!

Thanks Wilky Smile

Set to work on re-finding my spraying skills today :))

I whipped the wiper arms off and gave them a good rub down.

Masked off the springs.

I thought i was stuck for a hanging position until i realised there was a gap behind the garage door cross-members B-) Once i hung them up i gave them a coat of KUrust, rust preventing primer, then just some normal primer as i like the normal stuff better to work with to get a (hopefully) better finish.

After they dried.

Whilst i was waiting on coats to dry i gave her a good polish and decided that what the car really needs is a good going over with a clay bar. It's the first time i've had the chance to have a good look over the car for niggles i want to sort in future too. Annoying little things though that is and isn't worth doing just now... X(

Will update tomorrow hopefully when they SHOULD be back on the car Smile

B.
