But its easy to cheat with this MPG reader.
Get to a high ish speed, then just do nothing, use no pedals at all, but keep the car in gear. This will result in 999.9 MPG and will boost your Average MPG reading up miles.
I had a 2.0 16v Williams engined megane coupe. Average MPG in book was 33. I could get 32 easily. But with this 'cheating' I got over 80mpg on a drive from Telford to Barmouth.

you would need to coast for a long while before the 999.9 would make a effect, trust me.

it wouldnt boost the average if you let it settle.. do a big trip through towns and motorways and the average will settle on the true MPG average even if you did do a bit of coasting.

No on a recently reset AVG MPG reader. I done it so many times in my Megane and my old 03' 206 1.6 QuickSilver.
My AVG in my 206 was about 70 most of the time. (obviously that wasn't correct)
Once you take ya foot off the pedal and leave it in gear, takes about 5-6 seconds to register at 999.9 on the CURRENT MPG reader. Reset your AVG MPG when doing the 999.9, so your AVG is 999, then itll take ages to get back down if you continue to drive like a saint

Damn right! On the motorway at 70 I get 30mpg, at 77-80 I get 36mpg so sit at that usually. Usually the average mpg is about 15 now take it steady and all that!
On track is 5.5mpg
