Well I have replaced the spark plugs and taken a few pics of the coil pack and plugs.
It does appear to be a Sagem coil pack so I am assuming I should replace this?

Bouricord OR Electrofil

Match the colour of the connector plug up on your car, it will be either grey or black, they aint interchangeable!

There is also a wiring mod to look for.

There is a supressor fitted to pin 4 of the coil pack connector plug.

Peugeot / Citroen part number 6555 K9

I am scouring eBay for one of these coil packs but to no avail. Can anyone help me out please?

this is a pic of my engine and just to confirm is this the suppressor mod you were talking about?

I've ordered a new Coil Pack and I only paid £30.00 including postage. Its a Valeo one with the grey plug and the part numbers on it seem to match the ones on the Sagem so we'll see if it does the job. Wink

I'll report back once its fitted.

That little thing in the picture could very well be the supressor, mine was done under Peugeot warranty & its very well hidden behind the coil pack Laughing

I found this after doing a google for the part number you mentioned which looks very similar to the part I have pointed to in the picture.

cgi.ebay.co.uk/Genuine...0678937548

However it does say radio interference suppressor.

New coil pack fitted and the car feels a lot better. Will test it for a few days and see how it goes.

Well the car conked out again today Crying or Very sad

All in all I have changed the following: -
1. Idle Control Valve
2. Spark plugs (changed to Bosch Super 4)
3. New coil pack

Anyone have any other advice as to what I can check next?
Is it worth looking at some of the sensors?
Is it possibly the ECU?

cheers

Engine ECU software update at the local Peugeot main dealer might be worth thinking about, while its there get the BSI software updated as well.

Give the engine ecu connectors a good clean with electrical contact cleaner incase there's any nasty silicone grease residue there.

Any idea how much its costs to get these updates?

& when you say the engine ECU connectors are these the ones that you are talking about?

Yes, those are the conectors, you might find some silicone grease in there, that all needs cleaning out with electrical contact cleaner.

Shut the BSI down safely before touching those connectors.

Software updates - you need to ask the dealer, might be half hour labour or might be an hour labour.
