It's just failed on this, I got in the car and kept pushing on the horn, and I got one short bip out of it but nothing else. I know it's possobly faulty horn or corroded, but, the airbag light is on, and I'm wondering if that is related? Someone asked if the light was on in a nother thread but there's wasn't.

I never use a hron. I can say it 18 years of driving unless by accident I never use it, and wouldn't have thought to check.

I just had a look and from description of where it located I can't even see it!

Allways do teh checks mate. Its at the front iirc connected to the fan housing... you can see it through the grill on the bumper

EDIT:

You should be able to get a multimeter on it to see if any power is getting to it.

Also check all of the fuses under steering wheel and in engine bay.

Re-test is free so no big issue except for time really. I'll have another look, I guess it doesn't look like a conventional horn then?

Right.
First of all, check the fuses.
Then check the airbag and horn wiring.
IT IS RECOMMENDED THAT YOU DISCONNECT THE BATTERY FIRST - please note the BSI soft boot procedure here: 206info.co.uk/Forums/v.../t=95.html
Leave the car for 10 mins for safety reasons.
You remove the airbag it by turning the wheel 90 degrees then putting a flatbladed screwdriver through the hole in the back of the wheel (one on each side) You push in the metal spring clips and the airbag pops off.

Then check all the wires are secure.
If no luck then check the horn its self works by hooking it up to a power source.
If it works then it's likely you have a faulty COM2000 unit (about £240 from Peugeot)

isnt the horn connected to the same fuse as the number plate lights and side lights? or is that just pre plex?

My horn is a bit tempermental, but I think its the horn itself, because Dillon put a multimeter on my plug and it was fine.

You can get one cheap enough from halfords or something Smile

I'm thinking it's a faulty COM2000 unit with it having the airbag fault too.

I agree that is the right thing to do..
But in the other order.... Check the fuses then put a multimeter on the horn connecter and if possible get a new horn cant be expensive?
Then move onto the airbag?

OK, so I found the horn, but to get even close to it I had to unclip the plastic grill att the top, which broke.. And the undo the Peugeot grill bit, which I only released one clip.. which broke! Sad I only want to sell it and now I need to buy a new grill!! And I still cant get at the horn, I can touch the clip, but how am I meant to release it! I'm loath to undo any more of the grill because no doubt the other 3 clips will break. I read they were replaceable, but they are part of the grill!!!

Just jack the front of the car up. You should be able to access it without taking anything off.
2 10mm bolts hold the horn on

Thanks for the help guys, but I'm just going to send it to Peugoet I think. It's money I could do without spending, but I just haven't got the time or inclination to do this. I have checked obvious things for airbag and like seats and I have been around and checked all underdash fises, but it all were ok. Except unrestart it said the passenger airbag was disabled which it wasn't!! Great, bit touching things stopped that.

I tried puting my hand up the back underneath and now way can I get my hands up there, I must have big hands?!

it had a new comm2000 about a1 1/2 years ago!!?! Great!

Same here Wink

& being a GTI 180 with ESP the com2000 is very expensive to replace thanks to the ESP steering angle sensor being built in Laughing
