put short my car has been a nightmare over the last couple of months with one thing after another breaking.

any way replaced drivers side wishbone a couple of months ago because there was big movement from the ball joint, car drove OK but tracking was well out, finally got the car 4 wheel aligned this week so it now should be spot on, however the haddles is probally worse now than before tracking, just jacked the car up and realised that there was moved again from the ball joint, which is causing the funny handling

The ball joint is tight in place, and bolt hasnt moved, all i can think is that when the prevoius arm worn it also wore the hub down, therefore meaning that the ball joint pin is not a 'tight' fit.

my questions are
1. Does this sound about right/ pausable to people?
2. has anybody else had experience of this?
3. are all 206 hubs the same? my car is a 2.0l Hdi

are you sure its not just the pin thats shagged ? mine failed its mot on this yesterday.

It might be but its only been on there a month! and prop done less than 1000 miles, granted the tracking was out so more pressure on it, but still dont think it would go that quick do you?

cheap ones, sure its not them as you can acutally feel the pin moving at the top were it meets the hub, but also it doesnt make sence for the hub to be worn!

Is the balljoint definatly located correctly? There's a 'cut out' in the shaft for the bolt to sit in which holds it in place (So it doesnt move around with road bumps, potholes ect) if it's not located properly it can cause these kind of problems..

Also are the other two bolts on the subframe side nice and tight with no movement?

yeah preety sure its located properlly the shaft is flush with its carrier on the hub, and as far as i could tell yesterday there was no up and down movement just side to side, but ill check again tonight.

Yeah subframe bolts are all good and tight no movement, it seems to be all in the baljoint end, thanks for your ideas, dont suppose you know what diameter the bolt which meets the shaft is? thanks

Handling problem? can you describe it. Is it something like the car sway a little to left and right when driving above certain speed or excess movement when hitting uneven surface like potholes?

My old 206 got bad and tryed everthing to fix it. Turned out to be a wheel bearing In the end, the one that had gone was not making any noise.

Swaying at speed is best way to describe it, but only when on or off the throttle, you can feel the steering go 'light' and push you in the wrong direction, up and down movement is ok

Ive heard of this problem but not sure weather its the issue with mine, as when you jack the car up you can physically move the wheel, and all movement seems to come from the shaft on the wishbone going into the hub

jacked her up again this afternoon, the drives side wishbone shaft has a few things which are different to the passengerside, these are;

1. the pin seems to be sittings slightly higher in its carrier in the hub than the passenger side
2. bolt holding the shaft is different, passenger side has a nylock on it and the one holding the driverside just has 2 No bolts to 'lock' it in place.

given these differences do you think its possible that the shaft isnt located properly in the carrier, the bolt is not in the grove and therefore the carrier isnt tight enough?

Did you changed the wishbone by yourself or through a garage?

I experience similar problem "Swaying at speed" after wishbones being changed on my 206. At first i thought is alignment problem so i done the tracking but nothing change. I remember when changing the wishbones, the guy in the garage actually struggle to put back the bolt pin holding the hub and ball joint, ending up using different bolt.

i think i will try to change those pin bolts to give it a try, will be a trip to the dealer this weekend!
