So the 206cc bump stops weren't attached to a small block of metal held onto the car with a torx bolt?

??

The only bump-stops I know are the plastic 'rings' that fit in the front shock-absorber struts
for when it has ran-out of piston-movement (bottoming-out) and you get the characteristic 'bang' in a pothole etc.

Only rear bumpstops on 206s I have seen are the pull out type, never seen ones with a torx in them :s

The bracket for the bump stop is held in with a torx bolt. I had to change mine as the bracket had rusted away and the bump stop fell out!

the gti ones are held in with a torx. Bump stop are important as they stop your rear suspension from bottoming out. If your rear shox do it often enough they will break

Thanks mate. Car was actually running rough all weekend, three cylinders on friday and sat then down on power on the sunday. My gearbox blew up the week before the rally as well so I was running a standard gti box. The ratios were not great with a big gap between second and third. Bit of work to get it going 100% again
