Hey guys, was driving and all of a sudden the battery light came on and my stereo went off, I stopped the car disconnected the battery as I thought it must have been loose but it was fine. Now when the ignition is on 2 clicks there is no battery light but on when the engine is running.
I've checked the altenator and the belt is on can't see any loose cables, thinking the altenator may be dead as I'm guessing the light is meaning its not charging, any help would be great.

Most likely an alternator fault. Get it scanned as they will probably be an error code if the light is on.

Try to start it, turn it off, then start it again, if the alternator was dead then it wouldn't start back up the second time.

It would start as there could still be enough charge in the battery to kick the engine over.
Get a multimeter onto the battery terminals while engine is running and see what voltage it's kicking out should be around 13.5v IIRC. If its much less then the alternator is fooshed and will need replaceing.
If your not keen on checking it yourself, most garages and accessory shops will do it for free.

This.

My alternator belt came off the 530 at the weekend. Would start fine & drive for a bit. But it eventually died.

look at your headlights too. they can look a bit dim if the alternator is struggling.
