f*** my actual life lol. Expensive? I should have scrapped my car haha

Garages try to sell you a new drive shaft, but you can get it done with a new C/V Joint.

Probably between £80-£120 i would have thought.

i though new shaft was roughly the same price?

It probably is with the labour cost.

if your driveshaft is in decent nick id just by a new abs ring there alot cheaper than a new cv joint or new driveshaft, could possibly be one of the abs sensors as well.

Is it going to stop me from being able to drive the car soon? Or can I ignore it until I can afford to buy the new parts?

Its fine, just dont expect your abs to or esp to work also if you crash you could void your insurance beause its a safety item.

It will only be a real problem when you go for an MOT, it will fail.

That's fine. I'll sort it next month when the MOT is due.

I thought that, then it failed because it wasnt the abs ring or sensor.

It ended up being of the road for a month untill they found the actual problem..broken wiring.

Have a look at the ABS rings and see which one is cracked, then get some stud lock/thread lock (I forget which one its called) and stick it back together, this should sort it for a few weeks.
