Hi all

I have a 2006 1.4 hdi and have a strange problem.

When i stop the car the battery symbol on the dash stays on. if I leave the car for 2 days the battery goes flat. I charge it up, the car runs fine and the battery symbol goes out when I start and drive the car, and it drives fine. when i stop the battery symbol is there again and flat battery city here we come. Also the locking on the key is intermittent some days it works some days it does not. I have tried disconnecting the Alternator to see if it is somehow feeding back through to the battery symbol, but even with the Alt disconnected the the symbol stays on.

Any ideas anyone??

Hi thanks for that

tried the bulbs there all correct and working.

A little more info.... when you turn the ignition off as I said the battery symbol, mileage and clock all stay on even with the key out and they stay on it does not matter how long you leave it. Locking does not work but car restarts and runs fine and everything works. if you leave it like this the battery goes flat. If you disconnect the battery for a minute everything is OFF when you reconnect and the locking all works off the buttons on the keys without re syncying it?? Start the car and stop it and it all does the same , clock mileage and battery warning on. obviously the ignition is not being turned off somehow

help this is my daily car and i am getting fed up with taking the battery off at night.

Sounds like you have a drain somewhere, have you got any aftermarket audio fitted?

b******s. In your "had a bad idea" thread is the real photo and the colour of your car is nothing like that above. Crap camara or not. You have adjusted the colour that much you've turned a green tree red.

No

The interior light is working fine and
The radio is standard. The drain is because
The ignition is being kept live by something
