Hey all, im about to book my car in to my local to get the cambelt done as its due, what else should I ask them to change at the same time?

2001 (Y) reg 206, 1.4 TU3JP (8v) engine

did a quick search but im not sure if its the same for all engines?

seen that posted a few places, is it the done thing to always get the waterpump done with the cambelt?

Water Pump would be the sensible thing.

Well when KrisB does them, he does.

Cambelt, Waterpump, Idlers/Tensioners and Coolant. So probably.

Put it this way if you have the belt done then your water pump fails a week later the cam belt needs to come back off so you would be charged near enough the same labour again.

damn previous cheapskate owner of mine just got the cambelt done. Recently I had to pay for the waterpump and cambelt when it went! grr

You could pay to do your Cambelt then two week's later your water pump could go which mean's lots more penny's will need to be spent, May as well do it while your there in the first place.

Should say all cars where the timing belt drives the water pump, there are some exceptions out there Wink
