No, run a mile.

The 1.6 HDI is the worse engine Peugeot ever fitted in the 206.

If you want a GTI buy either of the petrol versions.

If you want a diesel buy a 2.0 HDI

Removing the DPF is cheap enough. Then just change to a SMF when the clutch is knackered at about 80k.

I've owned a 1.6 HDI GTI for coming up to 4 1/2 years. Engines been fine and consistently returned 55-56 mpg for me (extra-urban). £95 annual car tax and lowish insurance as well.

Now the bad bit: I've had the clutch replaced at a cost of £628 Crying or Very sad

I wouldn't recommend going for this car if you do mostly short journeys (knackers the particulate filter). I mostly use it for my 30 mile round trip to work.

Servicing needs to be spot on as well to avoid turbo troubles.

Hope this helps.
