You'd need install remote central locking. You can't just buy the fob and it work.

On a side note, what does central locking have to do with this thread? :/

hi Lee...thanks for the reply

we just purchased a 206 1.4 and have the immobiliser fault, getting very annoying. Will start after a few attempts.

I want to reset the BSI unit and see if it solves the problem. If not i'll get the mechanic to plug his pc in and take it from there.

Just in your description above it states that after resetting you have to hold the key fob button down in the barrel for 10 secs. We obviously don't have a button, since it snot remote central locking.

any advise?...

thanks in advance

That would be only to resync the remote central locking if you have it, which you don't so it should be fine.

Sounds like the ring on the ignition barrel has gone. Not expensive to replace.
