Ive always put my gti 180 in the peugeot garage for its services... but im going to do it myself....
I understand that 5.3L 5w 40 is to be used, but when looking at an old service reciept 10w 40 had been used... will this of damaged the engine?

also... engine flushing.... any recomended additives?

Gti 180, 04, Janspeed cat-back system, viper induction.

The 10w 40 will not have damaged the engine and you dont really need any additives or engine flushing.

Just drain the oil into a catch can, fill it back up with 10w40, it's a better oil for road cars anyway.

DONT!

Engine flush causes more trouble then its worth Wink

The correct oil & genuine / Purflux oil filters being used is much better for the engine then chucking flush bodging stuff in there.

Shove some cheap oil (if that exists anymore) in it and drive it gently for a couple of miles. Then drain it out.
