They found nothing apart from a badly wired up 02 sensor. They were getting many errors including intermittent ECU fault, a number of injector errors, Knock sensor error and other but I can't remember what he said. Not been to pick the car up yet. The car then stopped giving errors like it did with me before. He said the BSI is probably had it.

You're non-plexed right?

Very rare for a non-plexed bsi to just go if you haven't been tampering with it

Just seems strange that all the faults are in the engine ECU but yet they are saying its the BSI Confused

What they scanning it with?

I don't know tbh. He said BSI maybe he was mistaken? What control does the BSI actually have over the ECU?

The BSI contains the IMMO and that's it.

Has it been scanned with Peugeot Planet?

If the garage reckon the BSI unit is defective id be tempted to speak to BBA & send them both the engine ecu & the BSI unit for testing / quote to repair.

If the BSI only controls the IMMO in the car then it should be fine, as the IMMO is working otherwise the car wouldn't start and they wouldn't be able to access the engine ECU.

If it's only engine based things at fault then it will either be some sensor/s or the engine ECU

Than you for that useful diagnosis Laughing

Maybe he was mistaken and was talking about the ECU, he didn't really sound like he know what he was doing tbh. Will have to call again tomorrow. I might send the ECU off. How much to BBA charge? I can get hold of a band new ECU for £100, not sure if its blank or just needs coding.

Wonder if the engine ecu connectors are still covered in the w**ky silicone grease Peugeot used on the production line Confused

Might be worth spraying some electrical contact cleaner spray on the connectors.

New ECU needs to be unlocked or come with the matching BSI and transponder

A dodgy battery spazzed me electrics and blew my windows and central locking but I do not think its related as it was already on 2 cylinders. Not bothered trying to fix those yet.

Is it currently on a car that will start?

If so, then I'll tell you how to unlock it for free Wink
