I'm just curious to know if anyone has a sports cat or high flow cat on their gti or gti 180 and if it makes much difference?
They are ruddy expensive, are they worth it?
or has anyone gone the whole hog and just got a cat replacement pipe? again, what sort of difference does it make?

I find it very hard to believe that any standard road car has a sports cat as standard, especially a GTi 180 - despite what rumours on here suggest. Has anybody any pictures of the cat internals?
If you are going for a full system then fit one, if you are going for a custom build Powerflow type then don't bother because the non mandrel bends in the exhaust will create restrictions in the exhaust anyway. A sports cat on a Powerflow type exhaust is effectively the same as polishing a turd.

I've got a Scorpion full cat back on my gti 138 mate.
Hmm, didn't know that. I'm curious to know if anyone's actually fitted one and to what avail.
Annoyingly Scorpion don't do a sports cat for the gti, janspeed do though.

I've seen them when I had my Race/Sports Cat fitted to my 180, and in comparison there's alot more material inside which is quite compacted unlike the Race/Sports Cat which you can see right through
and to the OP, yes it does make a difference, I wouldn't go back to a OEM Cat after this... The engine feels pokier and free, and it sounds immense... pops and bangs a lot
