Hey people im new to this forum and writting this on behalf of a friend that never uses the internet ..
he has a X reg 206 (1.1 litre).. the problem is the cars temp sits in the middle as it should no fan kicking in or anything..
then from half way it shoots up to the red bit along with the "stop" sign and the fan kicks in and brings it back to normal, so as the gauge shows normal the fan goes off.. then it repeats and repeats
many thanks in advance antony

Not really sure I know what you're asking tbh.
Sounds normal, when it goes to red the fan will cut in to stop it overheating.

low speed fan relay or resistor or dodgy wires more than likely

Low speed cooling fan not working and water temp getting too hot and temp gauge reading about 90 degrees and then going rapidly in red / hot area and dash flashing “STOP”. Cooling fan then cuts in at fast speed. Fault was corroded connector at low speed fan resistor.
that is what is happening illl try it out thanks dude
