In nearly 13 years of Pug onwer ship the only 1 that has ever broken down on me was the 406 when the timing belt snapped, something which Peugeot later recalled it on.
2 x 405 over 6 years & the 206 over another 6 years so far have never let me down yet

Yes but the price reflects how good they are.
In the 3 years of owning my jap cars never had to spend any money on them. only for servicing. Even after driving round alday with out any coolant in as the bottom hose came off.
since owning the pug we have spent over £1000 replacing bits on it. its like a new car now.

Well it's called a "Used Car" ,NOT a "Brand New" car,so as everyone knows, used cars need maintenance, and few parts to be replaced, some of the parts wear due to the high mileage, and some of it because of the wrong use, because no one in this world drive the car like the other,so don't feel so bad for changing all what you said in the list, some of it need to be replaced even if it was working well.

Time for a new cam belt and waterpump, has to replaced every 5 years or every 80,000 what ever comes first. Or be prepared to bend some valves when belt breaks

g/s is connected to a rod and the rod goes into the g/b I think the rod is loose? People who have fitted a quickshift kit (shorter rod) can confirm this

Would that be related to the gunk underneath and whats the damage cost wise?
