Hi,
Newbie here so please be gentle!
We have a W (2000/2001?) reg 206 1.4ltr LX. It only came with one plain key.
The car has central locking on all 4 doors and the hatch but only via putting the key in the lock a turning it.
First question, would this model have come with REMOTE central locking as standard and its a case that we have the "spare" key?
There are no numbers on the key we have. It appears to be a genuine Peugeot key (it has the logo) with just the words "Valeo" stamped on it, on the metal bit.
If it should have had a remote type key then what are our options for getting one?
Then if it doesn't have the remote facility then where is the central locking "control unit", "relay" or whatever. I've read: in the driver's door, in the passenger door, in the footwell or next to the fuse box! I'm thinking to add say a Hawk aftermarket central locking kit.
Many thanks.

Bottom left of the windscreen near the tax disk, on the log book, mot certificate, open the bonnet and left of the catch, stamped in the chassis when you open the boot, open the boot and on a metal plate near the catch

So by "plip" key you mean one with buttons that would open/close the doors? Assuming then that I have only got the valet key?
Is there any way of getting a plip key & roughly how much?
Thanks

You can get them from ebay for pretty cheap, but you need a virgin transponder so it can be coded to the car [i can supply them]. Will also include the security code too for your immobilser system.

Lee, thanks for your help on this. Not sure if you have got pm(s) from me. First one I thought I sent has disappeared and can't move the second one out of the Outbox!
Can you advise how I go about getting a plip key then? Can I just go and get one cut at a local locksmith then get the "transponder" (assuming thats the chip in the key) from you? PM me with the costs if you can. Thanks.
