I apologize if this has been covered but I have done quite a thorough search for a few hours but I have not yet seem to find a good explanation of the difference between having the airbag light flashing or solid.
Reason I'm asking is cause my airbag light is on solid and it can either be there when i start the car or after driving for a while. Interestingly this only happens when its cold which makes me suspect it may be my battery getting old. Though im getting that checked soon.
I have also checked the wiring below the seats and they seem to be securely fastened... or perhaps should i take connection clips apart to make sure they're clean or something? seems pretty difficult to remove the clips though. I just hope it isn't my com2000 being moody when its cold.

Not sure what model you have, or if it varies. But if its any use to you, the gti's etc have a switch to turn pass side off, when you do this it staythe light stays on. When there is a fault it flashes.
May be useless info to you but hey. Threw it in for ya anyway lol

im driving a 206 gti. hmmh darn it so it could also mean my switch is broken which makes my airbag light stay on  though i'd be surprised if the tempurature could affect the connection with the switch..

The switch allows you to turn the passenger airbag off, has the picture of a seat crossed out with a number 2 next to it. Mine has started throwing a few errors up recently and I've spoken to Lee and he suggested the COM2000 unit was faulty. So you could have the same problem.

I had an intermittent problem with the airbag light coming on at start up and staying on. See here for more info.
It was always more prone to the problem when cold, but the light would only ever come on and stay on at start up never while driving. Also sometimes all the dash lights would flash and it would bong at you.
How old is your car? Do you know how old that battery is? The date of manufacture is normally on them somewhere. Mine showed up as ok when tested but as it was 8 years old I replaced it and fixed problem.
You may already have found this post by Lee but it lists quite a number of things to check.

its a 2002 206 gti. i just went to get my battery checked and the alternator was charging fine and the battery reading was around 12.78v or so which may either show that the battery is still good may be cause i just drove it to the garage to get it checked. The previous owner did not mark the battery when they bought it but there was only three years available to mark which was between 2006-2008 so that will make the battery be around 5 to 3 years old. i did not manage to see a date of manufacture on the battery =/
thing is mine stays on while driving and it can either appear right when i start the car or perhaps after 5 minutes of driving. The garage offered a free diagnostic and it came up with a message airbag permanently deactivated error and nothing else. Which points towards my suspicioun that it may be the airbag switch acting up. Another peugeot specialist garage also suggested that it may be the switch acting up and said that it was a common problem. I'll try see whether i can make a circuit bypass to see if it really is the switch acting up.

okays so i just tried disconnecting the wires to the switch and regardless of whether i make a closed or open loops with the wires the car ends up having the airbag fault light on (which was never there before).. so i am assuming that the bsi needs a particular signal from the switch so i guess the only way to see if it really is the switch causing my airbag fault is to buy a new switch and hope for the best x.x guess ill have to search the internet for that..
