how easy are they to fit?
would a GTI steering look weird in a 1.4hdi?

will the GTI one be a straight fit? and would i need to tell insurance company about it? i know it sounds trivial but does it count as a mod?

ir eally really really really really really doubt you would have to say, and as long asn you get one from a multiplex car then its a bolt off bolt on job

note the leather ones are not just in gti's so you can get them from other sport models.

Not that simple with the pug electrics. The two types are incompatible.
Multiplex steering wheels have clip on air-bags .. there are small squarish holes on the back to unclip the airbag. Pre are bolted on with round holes. For a 2003 HDi you will definitely need a MULTIPLEX wheel ...
And yes, they look fine in a 1.4 Style ... I swapped ours out a few years back. Changed the gear knob and gaiter for leather ones as well (ebay!)
