My fantastic piece of French engineering is suffering from the constant engine warning light that comes when you have a non-Peugeot catalytic converter installed. The fault code I get is "ageing cat" but it's less than a year old, has been checked for faults by the company that fitted it and my regular garage and has just passed the MOT with no emissions problems.
From reading posts on here it sounds like a common problem, I get the light reset, it stays off for a about a week or so, then comes back on with the same fault. Since I don't fancy shelling out for a new Peugeot cat, I was going to get a fault code reader and reset the warning light myself every time it comes on, but then I read a post that says you can only reset the warning light 50 times before you have to replace the ECU. Does anyone know if this is true?
Thanks,
Rich

I've read the same about the ECU. Seems a bit daft to have a limit though.
