Thinking of selling my 206, the MOT is looming and i'm getting fed up quite frankly! Got 2 weeks remaining and the turbo's knocking out black smoke (though my mechanic mate has recommended I change the oil and fuel filters), the backbox needs replacing and a front tyre is worn. It's just ticked over to 100k - the front end doesn't line up too well, but it does have 307 17" Challenger alloys (180 lookalikes), SP bumpers, grille and fuel cap, GTI half leather, custom speaker pods (see my previous posts) and taxed till the end of October.....

My options are break it, fix it or flog it, but need to do it soon! What do you recommend? Any offers please PM me and i'll consider it!

At least put it through the MOT, it might surprise you and pass. Then it'll be worth a lot more money if you do sell

Obviously do a good check beforehand so it doesn't fail on anything obvious

Buy my GTi! Razz One year's MOT on that and almost 6 months tax - you can have it for a special info price of £850!

Yeah I know what you mean, no worries, the GTi isn't so bad, I get about 370 to a tank.

Good luck with either MOT/selling etc though Smile

P.S. Where you live in hoddesdon, my gf's sister's boyfriend (what a mouthful) lives there.

I live on the 100 Acre estate, Caxton Road, small world - got another Hoddesdon member on here too Razz

Cheers for the luck, i'm gonna need it I think, my MOT tester lives down my road and he's seen the black pollution I leave behind!

370 isn't bad I suppose, i'm getting about 450, but it's running like a sack of spuds (in my opinion, it's probably just gagging for a service)

tyre and backbox not too hard to do...

change the filters and give it some derv treatment and stick it in for MOT...

for the cost of repairs would you be able to change the car for that....also a car with no MOT isnt worth a whole heck of a lot these days...

i got the 1.4hdi 147k miles and it still pulls on well (touch wood)

I guess, my worry is I spend my money on the smaller things and still end up having to change the turbo...i've seen a few second hand ones around the £50 mark, but still don't know if they'll be any good....I was thinking of taking the bits off the car worth any decent money and just sticking it on ebay for £350 spares or repairs, flog the other bits and cut my losses....i'll have a think about it!
