Will be either:

BSI software

Loose conenction in the CAN VAN wires between instrument cluster & BSI unit.

I get the feeling you will get charged an hours labour for updating the BSI & ecu software.

Check the following AFTER shutting down the BSI correctly & disconnecting the battery!

On the BSI unit:
Black 10 way connector. Terminal 8 wire 9004 and terminal 10 wire 9005.

On the instrument cluster:
Blue 18 way connector terminal 4 wire 9004 and terminal 2 wire 9005.

Clean & check all these 4 terminals, make sure there a tight fit.

Thanks. I'll have a look at it when I have time. Though since my problem comes on on rare occasions it'll be hard for me to check if it really does solve it.

Interestingly my problems only seem to occur during winter so my guess is that im having a connection issue. with all that colder connections and w/e.

And yes do keep this updated. Would be good to know.
