I'm on the 100k mileage mark now and on my home on a motorway journey for about 5-10 minutes the whole car started juddering/shacking, and the gearstick was shacking out of control. I was on the 50mph speed limit and couldn't really stop on a 1 lane but did as soon as I could, restarted engine and problem persisted... the shacking stopped randomly moments later as it also did start randomly. After 2 hours left there was no problems... at the time you could literally feel and see the shacking all over. Sad

thought that's it, the lifeline of this old motor and am looking now for another 206. 180 perhaps... do not want to spend a new gearbox or engine or w/e the reason for this but time is now for a new car. Very Happy

what is strange is that it only happened once, never before and never after... and the shacking started/stopped randomly? Confused not sure how to address this when it is for sale.. just wanted your input on this as it could be something else.

thanks!

would the coil pack need replacing if...

while driving sometimes u can feel lost of power while drving at a steady pace... only for a second... and sometimes stalling early morning...

@karimali831 - this does sound like a coil pack... my sisters old polo did similar and she had them replaced. although VW has the 4 separetly where as the pug i believe is together...

I would go for coilpack aswell. But that is on the basis that shacking is a hip word for shaking That I haven't learned yet.
