Was just wondering if there were any car electricians in the south east, kent london anywhere really. having a nightmare trying to sort out my central locking.

Checked all the threads and made several muself about he problem doing my head in completely now.

Had the car at the mechanics today and he wanted to take the dashboard out to check the multi function wiring (lol) because he couldnt find anything wrong with the actuators or any wiring between the door and car. im sure its one of the doors but the interior lighting system works fine, no problem at all so im stuck.

any one near by sold the issue or could help diagnose or point me in the direction who could.

Many thanks

I haven't replaced the solenoid yet, the one at the local scrappy had side damage.

Lee - the locks are bouncing, the mechanic thinks it's the drivers side as when you turn the key in the drivers side or push the popper inside the door it locks fine but doesn't do anything to the other locks, where as when you push the passenger side popper, the locks all bounce up.

I think it's the passenger side as the drivers side always acted independent of the other doors, I'm stuck to be honest, it's not the door sensors I don't think because the interior lights all work fine when the doors open or closed.

9 out of 10 is the solenoid when u have bouncing lock. Might work out cheaper if u just replace both the locking mechanism (2 doors) from scrappy, then getting urself an electrician.

The mechanic is right. If you push the internal lock popper down and the other locks don't do anything then that is the problem locking solenoid which you need to change. It's signaling it's open (when it isn't) which commands the others to open immediately

So what your saying is the drivers door popper when pushed SHOULD make the other poppers go down too?

Deckchair have you have experience doingthis in the past, I think a trip to the scrappy tomorrow then.

That's right

When you get a new solenoid lock push it to the closed position, then disconnect the suspect solenoid connector and attach it to the new one. It should of course make all the other locks copy it and close too. That's an even easier way of testing for a suspect lock
