Where to start?

Well I started out my driving life in my Mum's old hyundai accent 1.3 I don't have any pictures as it was embarrassing enough driving around in it as everyone was very much aware just from looking at it that it was a mum's car hah. (having said that I can't really fault it, we owned it from new and didn't break down once over 110k miles)

Then after a fair few months of working 50-60 hours a week in a horrible warehouse I saved my pennies up and started looking around for a 206 as I had my heart set on one from the first second I was behind a steering wheel.

Looked around a bit, test drove a couple of silver ones as they seemed to be the only ones in my price range nearby but I had my heart set on a black one and wasn't willing to settle so after a month or so of searching managed to find JUGs, 1.4 8v Y reg, had done about 70k. Was so chuffed with it, Must've gotten through a full tank of petrol just driving round aimlessly for the sake of it over the first few days of owning it.

Anyways, I'll let the pictures do the talking from here on out.

How she started out.

of corse being young and foolish, before discovering 206info I went for all the typical young man's first car faux pas.

So after a trip to halfords, I had some nasty binbag window tints (only managed the side 2 as the rear windscreen just went miserably wrong) kept these on until fairly recently as they had grown on me, must admit I do kinda miss them a bit now I've gotten rid. And some nasty chavvy chequer plate mats also from halfords (facepalm)

And lexarse lights, once again, facepalm. fortunately soon changed these back to the phase 1 rears that the car came with

Next update, once I'd gotten all the chavy boy racer, sit in halfords carpark revving your engine at passers by phase out of my system (I didn't actually do this)

Finally got my hands on some alloys, which made a huge difference, they were only rubbishy ripspeed 15 inch things curbed beyond belief but I loved them nevertheless

Next came a spoiler and crystals, sprayed up the spoiler myself and did a dreadful job then thanks to a how to on here tigersealed it on, nearly 2 years down the line still on firmly. That stuff is magic.

And also thanks to a how to got the crystals wired up to fit my h4 plugs.

Never bothered with wiring in a relay as I don't really know a lot about electronics and didn't want to break anything by trying, but I think I'd be better off holding a torch out of my window when driving at night than with my main beams on so that's definitely high on my list of things to do

Then I moved away from home for a year and left my car at home as I couldn't afford rent and upkeep on the 206 so there was a break in the modding for a while

Painted up my rocker cover when I came home for a weekend

This is now starting to rust away again so I may respray it soon, although being a 1.4 8v. I'm hardly gonna be showing off my engine bay much anyway.

Then I moved home, sold pretty much everything I owned on ebay to get my car through MOT and pay for tax and insurance and get it back on the road again. (going through 3 windscreens in about 2 weeks didn't help here at all)

But was soon back on the road again but completely broke so was still a while until I could start modding again.

Then I came across a front sport bumper in black just up the road from me for 15 quid so I couldn't say no really.
Underestimated how hard it'd be to change a bumper, but 2 days and a couple of hacksaw blades later...

Old bumper finally off, and....

New bumper finally on, wish I coulda just kept it like this, looks mean without the numberplate.

After saving up my pennies for a while managed to come across some 307 challenger wheels which seemed quite cheap at the time, however me being the fool I am, always leaping before I look, went to doncaster to pick them up, good 200 mile round trip. Got home, went to put them on, then realised they were too big to fit in the arches. Ofcorse they had tyres on to fit a 307

So got back on ebay and after going through 2 sets of part used tyres that were both un-usable, got tired of waiting and splashed out on a full set of new tyres.

but then ofcorse with my luck still couldn't get them on as there was another problem, I didn't realise I'd need flat seated wheel bolts for them so once again, back on ebay, managed to pick up a set pretty cheaply considering, and a set of locking nuts to go with them.

So at-frigging-last after about 2 months of having the wheels and having to save up for various things they were finally on the car

I was overjoyed with how they looked, only thing was after having driven on 15 inch wheels since I had the car it's now like driving a tractor/monster truck, hopefully I'll have another top mount arriving some point in the next few days and then when I've got the time I'm gonna have a crack at lowering it, Thinking of going 40mm front 50mm back, Just want it the same kinda height it was when it had 15 inch wheels. Would be nice to not have to slow down to 5mph to go round corners.

Next managed to find an SP grill for 15 quid not too far away so snapped that up

Next went about masking the headlights

Also got an sp fuel cap somewhere along the line, not in the best of condition, I'm contemplating carbon wrapping it sometime soon but can picture this going wrong.

Also picked these up off ebay but just had them sitting around for about 6 months as I never got round to making up some subframes to fit them.

Then after getting sick of having a nice looking car on the outside and a grandma mobile on the inside got a full leather interior off of jared and finally got that fitted and got rid of the nasty green lx interior

Just waiting to hear back about the darker dash to match the doorcards now though I'm dreading attempting to switch that over so if anyone can give me any tips/a brief how to I'd appreciate that a lot.

Then got some LED rear lights and a clear fog light which hopefully I'll be getting a silver bulb for in the next few days, and phase 2 boot strip I got somewhere along the line too, and cause I'm cheap and aware that I'm never going to make a 1.4 rapid so see little point in splashing out on a big sporty exhaust a cheapo ebay tip just to tidy up the tailpipe a bit.

from this

to this

I'll get a better picture tomorrow when it's light

Next found a cheap sample of some carbon fibre vinyl wrap, never been much of a fan of painted front badges but decided to try using carbon fibre on it instead and actually love how it's turned out and don't really see it done much.

That's as far as I've gotten so far.
Still to do:
Lower it, 40mm front, 50mm rear
Fog lights (should be arriving in a few days then will get them masked and put them on)
Wire a relay into the lights so I can actually see at night
Change dash for the darker one to match the door cards.
One more thing in mind involving some more carbon wrap that I won't disclose quite yet.
CC the door handles and mirrors.
Possibly a Cupra R splitter if I can find one cheap enough. Seem quite expensive though for a strip of plastic, so might go for a laguna one or possibly just try and adapt something else and be a bit more original.

So from this:

thanks guys Smile
and craig, I have a sports rear bumper (which I found on ebay for 3 quid!!) and phase 2 boot strip. Just forgot to take any pictures of before and after. I'll take a clearer picture of the rear today.

and yeah I agree, it's begging to be lowered, doesn't look too bad from the angle I've taken the pictures, but from the side...

Rear looks like it's about a metre off the road

Hoping this top mount arrives today so I can go about lowering it.

These arrived today, Will mask them tomorrow and get them fitted.

Had to take it to the garage today and welded up 2 holes in the exhaust so looks like there won't be much progress for a while as I now need to fork out for a whole new exhaust, Cat and everything :/

So if anyone's selling a 1.4 8v exhaust system or can recommend anywhere that'd be very helpful.
