Hi all,
I Bought a 206 gti X reg a few months back that was being advertised as a 180. I rang the garage and said are you sure its 180 BHP as the 180 was in production from 2003 onwards blah blah. This being my 3rd 206 gti im aware there are 2 models 138 & 180. The guy said it was 180 bhp so i went and had a look.
Now ive had 2 138 versions before and this one is definatly quicker than those, but this is where it gets weirder... 138's are insurannce group 14, however when i got this insured it was insurance group 17D??
Car has full service history and has been thouroughly looked after, and is legit ie hpi clear & nothing reported at dvla.
Do any of you know whether peugeot made any pre 2003 models with 180bhp??

The insurance groups have changed. So if it was a lower group before it will be higher now.
They definitely didnt make them before 2003.

Has it been modified?
Although even then it would still fall short of 180bhp.
Even the GTi180 isn't 180bhp.

what's your numberplate?
what does it say on your V5c?
The X-reg could be a private plate
