Hi every one, iv not been on for a while since the gti got written off. and kinda bought a Toyota, But id like to still stick around and come to local meets even if im not a true puglet any more.

Toyota dont tell people this problem
Had the same thing on my MR2 but luckily p/x'ed it before it died, also its only on pre 03 models.
Looks very nice though.

That be true, its down to not enought oil holes in the pistons, and lack of oil changes. it affects the 1zzfe engines from 1999 to 2003

Its also down to the piston rings, they somehow oval bore the cylinder lining therefor letting lots of oil in to be burnt.
