Ok my cars been bugging me for a few days now... What happens is when i turn the car on after a few hours its had to rest or a day it will turn on then suddenly judder and turn off... Then takes around 3-4 times of trying to start it for it to turn on and run proper... Im guessing it seems like a fuel intake fault or something but dont really know. I jus want a clue as to what it may be and if i can give a go at fixing it myself or sending it to a mechanic

My cars a 1.4 S HDI, 5 door 2004 model

Do all the electrics die or just the engine?

Fueling issue then.

Check the pump...and when was the last time the fuel filter was changed?

If the engine isn't getting any fuel, then it's not going to work for very long Laughing

Open the bleed screw and turn the ignition on so that diesel p**ses out, this will make sure the pipes are clean as well as bleeding the fuel system at the same time.

Next step would be to change the fuel filter during the service

After that, it would be getting the pressure pump tested.
