This just started yesterday, when I open the drivers door, there is a sound like a gunshot It frightened the crap outta me the first time. It also makes the same noise when closing, only not as loud. I know the doorcard is going to have to come off, but I was wondering if anyone else has this experience before??

Door check straps. £15 each inc VAT from Peugeot I think

100% correct, and yes you will need to remove the doorcard to remove, and fit the new one.

Tighten it up and grease it would be the first port of call

i did that with mine and it lasted about another week. but might aswell give it a go

Thanks for the replys. I don't think its loose. I put my finger on it to feel if it vibrates. The loud bang seems to come from behind the door card, unless you mean tighten it up on that end.
