Just changed the VVT.
Changed my air intake from a cone to standard and back.
Cleaned the trottle body of carbon build up.
Compared to my friend's GTi 138, my throttle response it rubbish! Once I'm in 3k-4k+ revs it pulls really strong like it should.
Last thing I can think of is seeing how loose the throttle cable is maybe?
Where is that on a 180?

Tip: Start cheap, then think expensive.
Plugs for example, may be your first port of call.

you may just be expecting to much from it mate... i have heard from a few people that throttle response was better on there old 138s

Typical trait of electronic throttle body, all these signals from various sensors go to the ecu before the butterfly is opened, which causes the lag
I have heard a proper custom remap can help

My 180 responds well. I find cleaning things made my 180 a little sluggish for a while!!! If you changed your VVT have you cleared all the faults?

My 138 was more responsive than my 180, the 180 doesn't really kick in until 3500k

I haven't cleared the faults to be fair. Didn't think I would if I replaced it with a new one?

At least it's not just me then. Still annoying. I can feel it has more power than my friend's GTi 138, just not the same quick, sharp response

I think it's just what the 180 is like mate, mine is regularly serviced and no expense spared on it, my step-dad is a master tech for Peugeot so I get parts cheap 
The 180 is alot more fun and quicker if u just keep it in the higher rev range

Trust me, the ECU doesn't take time to think about what the sensors are telling it.
With motorised throttle bodies the ECU controls the throttle angle and speed of opening for a given throttle pedal position. Remaps can change this so the throttle butterfly opens further for a given pedal position. It makes it feel more responsive but doesn't do anything that pushing the pedal further can't achieve.
Throttle response is simply down to the time it take for the air to get from TB to combustion chamber and the rotating mechanical weight to accelerate like flywheels.

Checked the spark plugs today, sort of hoping they'd be NGK's, at least then I'd feel an improvement when putting in Bosch plugs. But they were already super 4's.
I still love my 180, so all is good

i think it sometimes, but i honestly just think its the electronic throttle, i came from my old vtr which was a cable and the 206 can seem slow to respond sometimes, not majorly but noticeable split second.
Unless yours has got worse recently, but i think its the way they are

it does sound weird but if it's in your head then you'll think its un-responsive. you need to try and clear it from your mind and it'll seem fine. sounds stupid but the mind can play awful tricks on you when it comes to these sort of things
