Hi

My RC having some issues with ABS/ESP system!
when I start the car no faults, driving away and after maybe 2-3mins the Abs light and esp light are coming on.
before the lights are coming on both are working fine, the abs kicks in and esp slow down one of the front wheels!

so my questions:
can I measure the ABS sensors?
Is it a Ohm value for the rear and front ones?
and does anyone have a electrical diagram of the circuts?
it's not in my haynes book! :/

Thanks

Check the tyre pressures.

Check the front toothed rings on the driveshafts.

Peugeot Planet scan time

but the crack has been there for a year or so and the abs/esp fault came for a month ago..

so I can't measure the sensors?

To me this sounds like a fault coming from your hydraulic abs block. On most peugeots the abs unit controls both the abs + the esp. I suggest a peugeot planet scan to check for faults in the abs ecu(hydraulic block). I suspect the unit is at fault but i would defiantly suggest a scan with peugeot planet.

okey, Then I'll take it to peugeot.

I think it's so strange that it is coming after driving for some minutes.

I find this strange myself, but a simple diag check at peugeot should be able to clarify what the problem is. If i was you, i'd ask to see the print outs, and if you dont understand the print outs, ask for them to be explained a little.

Wasting your time looking for the fault elsewhere, replace the cracked toothed ring!

The shaft ring on mine was cracked and the ABS light would come on at high speed. If you want to fix a problem you have to fix every problem. If you know something isn't right with that trigger ring then it needs to be changed. If it's cracked then it will spin on its own confusing the ABS/ESP ECU. Hence the light comes on.

MrBSI: I think it's so strange, because the ring has been not as bad as Edwards but it's almost 1 tooth missing like a year and the light was starting to come on in August.

Will buy a new driveshaft and see if it fix it, but I have my doubts Razz

How do you expect an ABS / ESP system to work correctly with a broken toothed ring?
