Just noticed this over the weekend. When braking there is an audiable knocking noise coming from under the car. It's a fast knock if travelling fast and the slower you get the longer the gap between each knocking sound. Any ideas what this could be? Car is due for MOT next week! Typical!

Check the caliper is tight and make sure the rattle pins are still in the pads. Check the wheel for play and all the ball joints.

the pedal doesnt vibrate per say but does sometimes feel like there's something below the pedal as it isn't a smooth pressing action... that's the best way i can explain it!

Right, when driving today the sound has progressed to a scraping noise for the duration of the time I have my foot on the brake. Does this help narrow it down to what it could be?
