Thank you!. Erm i may get a different backbox for it but that's probably about it, i've got it to how i want it so there isn't really anything else i want to add now because i don't want to over-do it and i think it looks smart just the way it is

Just spent ages looking through the pics (skimmed through the writing too) - you sure do like to take pictures of your car! And there's tons of subtle mods on it too. I'm left scratching my head what to do on mine now, its pretty much 100% standard.

Ha ha yeah i do get a bit camera happy! There are quite a few mods on it yes and as you said, they are mostly subtle, the only thing that isn't is the lowness at the back i suppose. well each to their own, i couldn't even begin to tell you what you could do to yours as there are so many things, i guess all you can do is browse as many progress threads as poss looking at what other people have done to theirs and getting ideas. I Only have 2 rules for modifying my cars and they are being lowered and sitting on a decent set of wheels, other than that all the additional mods just help make it my own

Hi everyone, so i did some research on diesels and found that unless i'm doing over 12,000 miles a year it wouldn't be worth my while in fuel price owning one after all.
So after putting my car up for sale before i'd considered all the possibilities i decided that i'm not going to sell it now. I do love it and it's taken a long while to make it into what it is today and i am proud of it i must say. That and i cannot stand the thought of driving around in a standard car that sounds like a tractor compared to my Pug lol so that's it.
I have since taken out my own insurance policy, (now that i can finally afford it!) with Adrian Flux and declared all of my modifications at no extra cost and am starting to finally build up my own years no claims |
that is very true, but if you own a diesel, you can run bio-diesel or even wvo (waste veg oil, currently i can get it for £1 per 5 litre from my local chippy) or pvo (pure veg oil, currently more expensive than diesel) so with a 50/50 mix of both white diesel and wvo that has been filtered (to remove the crap) should work out very econimical.
ill let you know how mine goes when i get one......

Shouldn't really run veg oil on a modern diesel, not unless you are wanting to replace the injectors and pump often

It can be done, but there are a few problems. Its not simply a case of using veg oil these days. It used to be, when diesels were much simpler and more tolerant of out-of-specification fuel. But these days things like calorific value and viscosity need to be pretty much bang on within spec to avoid issues. Its possible to process veg oil, or waste veg oil to more closely meet the required specifications, but you might also need to modify the car such as having a twin-tank setup and/or fuel heater. At the end of the day, do you want to make extensive modifications to the car and make a hobby out of making your own fuel?
