Its hard to get a well looked after example for less than that. Is an XS or nothing really. A GTI is quite a bit more to insure but I called and got a quote for an XS a while ago and it was £20 cheaper.
Less complicated electrics too

With an expired MoT (date says Oct 2011) I'd be either insisting on 12 months MoT or considerably less money to purchase it. Beware....
Also, don't take the seller's word for the condition, its an opinion really, go to see it before you offer anything. I've seen plenty of cars where they've been described as mint, and they are far from.
