The wife bought a 2009 1.4 a few months ago and when checking the oil it is filthy so I thought I'd change it. Seems as though the last owner managed to totally mangle the last sump plug so I wanted to get a new one... but a different sort rather than the factory standard.
Does anyone know what the actual thread size of the plug is so I don't have to leave her car off the road whilst we wait for a new plug to arrive once i have sized it up myself?
Thanks in advance

They have slightly changed the design since the cars came out of the factory due to the 'old style' with the hex head rounding off too often.. The new style is a fully rounded edge one with a standard oil drain square socket piece hole in it..
Take the new plug to your local halfords or such and ask for the correct adaptor, they're fairly cheap IIRC

Even the older style there's nothing wrong with it if you use the correct socket to remove it.

Thanks all. This one looks as though the last user must have just used the wrong socket to remove, and if they have had a history of rounding off, I guess I shouldn't be too surprised.
If they've changed the design, I might go and try the OEM one again. You can't go too wrong for that sort of price!

I have done shed loads of services in dealers and independant garages aswell as private and never had a issue with rounded sump plugs on and peugeot, in my opinion its all about the right size yes pug use differant options but all you have to do is look before you drain your oil, if you ar no master mechanic ask a garage or even use old faithfull molegrips just make sure you got a nice tight fit lol
