Just looking for a little feedback on these quickshifts by griffiths-engineering,
Has anyone fitted one? whats it like on the gear change does it change the smoothness at all ? worth the effort fitting ?
Any advise from anyone thats got one or tried a 206 with one would be appreciated

This.
The one they do for the 2.0 HDi should be fine. They don;t make it any smoother, just shorten the throw.

Great hopfully there may be some feedback from those who fitted them havnt got the gti mine 2.0 Hdi, just find the 'throw' on the stick really long be good to shorten it but dont want to make it feel clunky or stiff and mess up the feel

Ben cancelled it due to a problem not on his side. I have one fitted and as said all it really does is shorten the throw. But don't expect huge changes. Once you have got used to it the box still feels as s**t as ever.

I bought a short shifter that is the replacement lever type about 2 years ago now and I'd rate it. Easier to fit, compatible with all models and mine came with a solid stainless steel gearknob included.
I've seen these alloy brackety things and replacement gimbles that are frankly over-priced and overcomplicated for what they are supposed to do.

The Griffiths kit comes - or did come - with a small alloy block to fit behind the clutch pedal to shorten the pedal effort. For goodness sake DO NOT FIT THIS TO YOUR CAR. Those find few cm's toward the floor are cruicial for the release of the pressure plate.
I learned the hard way and the guy should not be supplying this. Not only does it knacker the clutch but because the synchro does not completely mesh, the cogs wear - mine ended up welding together in 2nd and 3rd because of the added friction. Next time I am in the neighbourhood he can sort me with a few hundred quid.

I played it safe and bought the ecosse one but not fitted it yet. It came in a massive box I have no idea why.

Mr 'Griffiths' needs a smack round the head with one of his own quickshifts...
... but then again it would probably snap prior to imapct
