The car in the pictures does have sideskirts
But can't deny that they are morons in going for that exit and not just take the next and turn around!

I know, unfortunately. Saw a picture of a RC once, didn't look too bad but the driver didn't make it
I guess it all comes down to alot of different little things in the end.
But in general i feel these cars are fairly safe

Maybe the typical "chav-style" driving saved them, as in they were pretty much lying down? But no idea TBH
