Hi guys/girls,

Im kinda not sure what to do..

Last week i picked up a 206 2L gti (2003, 41,800 miles) for just over £2k.. car in perfect condition, 12 months MOT and tax

I have just noticed i can get a 207 gti (2008, 37,000 miles) for just under £4,5k!!.. i just love the look of the 207 gti Smile

Now, after checking up my car is showing a trade in value of between £2k to £2.5k.

What would you do, trade in and get the 207 for an extra couple of thousand or spend a couple of thousand upgrading/modding the 206?

I like my 206.. but have 2 kids (aged 2 & 4) so space is kind of tight in the back (previously had a Vectra C which was very big.. but written off).

..and i'm hoping the Mrs doesnt want any more little babies or the 206 will just be to too small..

arhh.. im ranting now, but what would you do???

Thanks!!!

Carlos

The question is why would you want to spend 2k on the 206? personally i would opt for the 207, or if you like the 206 go for the gti 180 and join us Smile
Upgraded from 138 to 180

Personally I prefer the look of the 206. The 207 is at the start of the era where cars had to get much bigger simply to meet stricter saftey regs etc. Just looks too big for what the cars supposed to be for me.

Shut it u stupid little f**k, what's the point in posting in all my treads being such a c***? Least I can afford a gti180, and to get the cam belt done!

So apparently everyone knows my financial situation? If I wanted a 180 I would have bought a 180 simples Smile

Not so sure you'd get that much for your car trading it in, but if you can I'd go for the 207.

That's not what you said ("after checking up my car is showing a trade in value of between £2k to £2.5k"). Sad

Id you get 2k trade in for a GTi 138 then id snap that up.

I think the 207 GTi is a nice car, and i am sure you can play with the boost to make it quicker.
Buts it alot bigger and bulkier.
I could be wrong but i would of thought the 206 handles better?

Its down to your personally but id have a 180 all day long

Ran off with a Honda Integra DC5 Type R

Cya!

For me, size isn't the deciding factor, but handling. The 206 is great, i guess i should take the 207 out for a test drive. My peugeot dealership is is just about over the road Smile
