Hi Everyone, this is my first post here so go easy!
My Girlfriend has just bought herself a W reg 2.0hdi 206. And well, it has a few (reasonably minor, hopefully) problems..
1st, there is a nasty clonk from the front suspension when going lock to lock on the steering. I've not had a chance to get underneath yet to check this out. is there anything in particular to look for?
2nd, The rev counter keeps playing up. sometimes it sits a 3k revs, even when the engine is off! if you switch the ignition off/on it drops 500 revs, switch it off/on again, another 500 revs etc, until it gets back to 0. then it can be ok for a while, until it suddenly shoots up again. im guessing this will be a new instrument cluster job to fix?
3rd, central locking doesn't work properly. the drivers door wont lock from the fob, only by key. this seems to be a pretty common problem, im thinking a new lock mechanism should sort this? (the other one 'bounces' when you try to lock, but the drivers doesn't move)
4th, the engine never seems to get up to 90c. pretty sure the thermostat has gone. is that easy to replace on this car?
sorry for all the questions! im new to Peugeots, but do most of my own DIY on my cars! any help/thoughts appreciated!
edit: oh, and for most other cars i've owned i've been able to get some sort of software to read fault-codes with an old VaG-com cable. is there anything about for these?

Thanks, i have read a few other threads about the clonking, seems top strut is likely. is it a difficult job on these?
Is there no Peugeot diagnostic software though? I had Vag-com for my Seat, Fiatdiag for my Alfa, and INPA for my BMW, but all worked with the same cable.
